It looks like America couldn't care less about American Idol at this point. After 12 seasons of auditions, eliminations and Ryan Seacrest's results procrastination, the show’s ratings have been dwindling.
As a result, the Idol summer tour has been scaled back, the tour production company 19 Entertainment has revealed. Originally Season 12 winner Candice Glover and 10 of the rejected Idol hopefuls were supposed to perform in 40 cities across the US, beginning June 29.
However, now the group will only be singing in 31 venues and the tour has been pushed back to July 19. A 19 Entertainment spokesperson revealed to The Hollywood Reporter, "Due to production scheduling changes, the American Idol 2013 Tour will now begin on July 19th and go through the summer until August 31st. The Idols look forward to performing in 30 venues across the country."
For now, FOX is on the hunt for their newest panel of judges now that Randy Jackson, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj are officially out. E! Online is reporting that Jennifer Hudson is thisclose to signing the deal to lead a panel former Idol contestants-turned-judges.
