LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- 
Caption Despite
reports claiming Avril Lavigne and fiance Chad Kroeger wed on Saturday
in the South of France, it appears the couple has yet to tie the knot.
According to an Us Weekly source, the rockers are “technically not married yet.”
Avril
and Chad reportedly threw a party in Cannes, France on Saturday to
celebrate their impending wedding, but the actual ceremony will take
place on Monday, the mag reported.
The punk princess and Nickelback frontman got engaged in August 2012 after meeting while working together on Avril’s new album.
During a visit to last month, Avril shared proposal details.
“He
proposed in the studio — that’s where we met, in the studio where we
made my record at,” she told Kit Hoover and Billy Bush at the time.
The Canadian singers were friends at first, but sparks soon began to fly.
“We
were working together having a good time, bro-ing out,” she said. “We
started off as friends goofing around and then turned into something
else.”
Chad – who proposed with a 14-carat ring – matched everything Avril was looking for in a man.
“I
had said I want to date someone 10 years older than me and he’s exactly
10 years older,” the 28-year-old said. “He’s got it together, he’s
mature, he’s done this thing, he’s lived life. He’s been around the
world on tour, I’ve been around the world on tour.
“We can really relate over a lot of things and we really just bonded over music and songwriting,” she added.
