Los Angeles: 'Spider-Man' is returning to cast his web in four films.
Sony Pictures has announced that it will release its third and fourth 'Amazing Spider-Man' movies on June 10, 2016 and 2018.
A threequel was always in the pipeline but the announcement of a
fourth film means that the superhero will enjoy a longer stint at the
box office.
The sequel of the rebook will see Andrew Garfield return in the
role of Peter Parker. The film is currently in production in New York
and releases on May 2, 2014, the Hollywood Reporter said.
"Spider-Man is our most important, most successful, and most
beloved franchise so we're thrilled that we are in a position to lock in
these prime release dates over the next five years," said Sony Pictures
vice chairman Jeff Blake.
'Amazing Spider-Man 2' is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay
by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft
by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and
Steve Ditko.
Superheros are doing well at the box office with the latest being
Superman movie 'Man of Steel'. The film has earned USD 200 million
worldwide since its release last Friday.
