Angelina Jolie who went double mastectomy has made her first public appearance with her boyfriend Brad Pitt at Brad Pitt`s zombie thriller ` World War Z’ premiere at a Central London Cinema on Sunday. Jolie has taken a bold medical step to undergo double mastectomy and doing do she has reduced the high chance of breast and ovarian cancer by 87 percent.
Sadly, Angelina Jolie has lost her mother Marcheline Bertrand, 56 in 2007 of ovarian cancer. She went through the surgery as she does not want her children to suffer as she has gone through. She looked ravishing in black gown as she posed with Brad Pitt. She posed for the shutterbugs and interacted with her fans. She also received gifts from her ardent fans and clicked photos with her fans. Jolie looked happy and she was shining. Jolie’s brave step has drawn her appreciation from people around the world. She became an inspiration for all those who has a high chance of cancer but hesitating to take the bold step. Praising Jolie, Madhur Bhandarkar wrote on twitter, “I bow to the courage and strength that Angelina Jolie has shown by talking about breast cancer and encouraging the women world over to fight it.”
Brad Pitt stood by her side through these tough times. “I am fortunate to have a partner, Brad Pitt, who is so loving and supportive. So to anyone who has a wife or girlfriend going through this, know that you are a very important part of the transition. Brad was at the Pink Lotus Breast Center, where I was treated, for every minute of the surgeries. We managed to find moments to laugh together. We knew this was the right thing to do for our family and that it would bring us closer. And it has,” Jolie said.
With extreme care and secrecy, the entire medical procedure was carried on and Jolie’s treatment only ended in April. He took three months to complete her treatment. Last month, Jolie declared to the world that she has undergone double mastectomy.
Just few weeks ago, she lost her aunt to breast cancer. However, Angelina had to miss her aunt's funeral as the ‘World War Z’ premiere fell on the same day.
The crowd went berserk and applauded Jolie’s courage and Brad’s constant support.
