Will audiences buy Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs?

The first trailer for Jobs shows the Two and a Half Men star as the Apple co-founder during his college days, as he launched the start-up and after he encountered his fair share of corporate problems once the company grew to challenge other tech giants.

Eventually, Kutcher dons the famous rounded glasses that became an inadvertent fashion statement. The trailer ends with the line "some see what's possible" as the actor recites lines from the "Think Different" ad campaign.
The film, directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Swing Vote), also stars 1600 Penn's Josh Gad as Steve Wozniak. (The Apple co-founder stated that he wants to see the movie and that he'll "keep an open mind" during an interview with Piers Morgan on Thursday.)
Jobs (formerly titled jOBS) debuted at Sundance this year, with 's Justin Lowe concluding that the "filmmakers do fall into the trap of overly sentimentalizing a widely beloved public figure who represents an enormous cultural significance. At the same time, however, they keep the movie frequently engaging..."
Open Roads will distribute the film, which is set for release Aug. 16.
