LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Helena Bonham Carter has lined up another classic gig.
The “Les Miserables” star will star in Disney’s “Cinderella,” Walt Disney Studios announced on Thursday.
“Helena
Bonham Carter has been cast as the fairy godmother in Disney’s upcoming
live-action feature ‘Cinderella,’ directed by Sir Kenneth Branagh,” the
studio said in a statement.
The
London-born beauty joins previously announced cast members Cate
Blanchett as Lady Tremaine (the wicked stepmother), and “Downton Abbey”
newcomer Lily James in the title role.
Richard Madden (who played the ill-fated Robb Stark on “Game of Thrones) has been cast as Prince Charming.
“Cinderella” is slated for theatrical release in 2014.
