LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Jessica
Alba brought more than her sunny disposition to this weekend’s Spike
TV’s Guys Choice 2013 Awards when she wore this strapless yellow
crocodile print Versace mini.
I love how bright and cheerful the dress looks and it has inspired me to go “Little Miss Sunshine” this Summer.
Here are a few ways to work yellow into your warm weather wardrobe:
1. Go Big or….Not!
Feel
like being the belle of the ball? Then go bold with a cute dress like
Jessica and you WILL get noticed. If you aren’t quite so daring, you can
wear yellow in smaller doses and still get the same effect. A yellow
bag or shoes will inject your outfit with pizazz, while jewelry or
scarves are also inexpensive and easy options.
2. Add Even More Color
I
like how Jessica paired her dress with an equally attention-getting
color — red pumps and matching red nails. Yellow goes with many other
primary colors besides red. Try royal blue, green, orange, or even
fuchsia.
3.Go Neutral
Too
much color? Neutrals also work well with yellow. Camel, tan, brown and
white all work well with yellow. Black works too, but keep it minimal,
otherwise, I start thinking of bees!
4. Show Off Your Summer Glow
Yellow,
like white, is the perfect way to show off your tan, so have plenty of
bronzer or self-tanner on hand. I also like it on paler skin, but
there’s just something about the way yellow plays up Jessica’s tanned
legs that looks awesome! Real or faux, a nice tan is the epitome of
Summer!
5. Nail It
Like
yellow but not enough to invest in clothing or accessories? You can get
into the yellow trend without making a major commitment. Yellow nail
polish is big this summer. Sally Hansen, OPI and China Glaze all do fun
yellows.
