The studio division inks a deal with Hanway for the comedy crime caper written and directed by Richard Shepard.

LONDON -- Fox Searchlight Pictures has inked a deal for North American rights to Richard Shepard's Dom Hemingway, starring Jude Law, Richard E. Grant, Demian Bechir and Emilia Clarke.

Fox Searchlight Pictures presidents Stephen Gilula and Nancy Utley said the studio division has also taken "select major territories" to the black comedy/crime tale.
The film is produced by Oscar-winner Jeremy Thomas via his U.K.-based banner Recorded Picture Company.
The movie is scheduled to be released in 2014.
Thomas and Fox Searchlight previously teamed on Sexy Beast, a crime caper starring Ray Winstone and Ben Kingsley.
Law plays Dom Hemingway, a larger-than-life safecracker with a loose fuse who is funny, profane, and dangerous.
After twelve years in prison, he sets off with his partner in crime Dickie (Richard E. Grant) looking to collect what he's owed for keeping his mouth shut and protecting his boss Mr. Fontaine (Demian Bechir).
The deal was brokered by Fox Searchlight's exec vp of worldwide acquisitions Tony Safford and svp of business affairs Megan O'Brien with HanWay Films managing director Thorsten Schumacher and COO Jan Spielhoff on behalf of the filmmakers.
