LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
A director has been chosen to helm “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
Sam Taylor-Johnson will direct the big screen adaptation of E L James’ erotic novel, Focus Features confirmed to Access Hollywood on Wednesday.
Taylor-Johnson
previously directed 2009’s “Nowhere Boy,” which starred her husband,
Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Kick-Ass,” “Anna Karenina”).
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, the film will be produced by Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti (“The Social Network”).
Kelly Marcel, who was a writer on Fox’s short-lived “Terra Nova” series, will pen the screenplay.
Casting for the movie’s main characters, Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, has yet to be announced.
