"Anchorman"
The exhibit will open Nov. 14 at the Washington, D.C., museum and will feature various props and costumes from the 2004 comedy.
Ron Burgundy's many leather-bound books and rich mahogany are making their way to Washington, D.C.
Opening Nov. 14, the Newseum's "Anchorman: The Exhibit" will include memorabilia from Paramount's hit comedy Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
The exhibit will include costumes worn by the Channel 4 Evening News team, as well as Ron Burgundy's jazz flute and the whip used by rival anchor Arturo Mendez (Ben Stiller) in the 2004 comedy's infamous fight scene.
"The exhibit explores the reality behind the humor of Anchorman and tracks the rise of personality-driven news formats in the 1970s," says Cathy Trost, vice president of exhibits and programs at the Newseum.
Visitors will be able stay classy while posing for photos in a re-creation of the KVWN-TV anchor desk, and will also have the opportunity to step in front of the camera to participate in a Anchorman-themed TV spot.
The Newseum's goal is to document the history of the news, through the incorporation of hands-on exhibits and up-to-the-second technology.
Much like Mr. Burgundy, the Newseum hopes to champion the rights of the First Amendment though education and entertainment.
In Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues the entire Chanel 4 team is back and ready to misinform the unsuspecting public.
Starring Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and Christina Applegate, the film opens on Dec. 20.
