Adam Sandler is teaming up with Chris Columbus for Hello Ghost, a remake of a Korean supernatural comedy just set up at Universal.

Sandler is attached to star in Ghost, and will produce with his Happy Madison partner Jack Giarraputo. Columbus, who is on board to direct, will produce via his 1492 Pictures partners Michael Barnathan and Mark Radcliffe.
Ghost centers on a man who, after attempting to kill himself, is plagued by the arrival of four ghosts. They won't leave him in peace until he helps them amend their past by granting them one wish.

Karen Croner (Admission) wrote the script for the remake.
Executive producing is Miky Lee of CJ Entertainment, the Korean media company behind the original, which was directed by Young-tak Kim and produced by Next Entertainment World and Water n Tree Pictures.
Maradith Frenkel, vp production, and creative executive Chloe Yellin will oversee the project for Universal.
CJ Entertainment is part of the Asian media and entertainment company CJ E&M (Entertainment & Media) which also produced Snowpiercer, the upcoming English language debut of The Host director Bong Joon-ho.
Columbus is in the midst of a busy period that will soon see him back in the director's chair for the first time since 2010's Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The filmmaker is in negotiations to direct Pixels, the adaptation of a witty Internet short for Sony that is being produced by Sandler’s Happy Madison banner. On Thursday, 1492 picked up the Christmas-themed spec 12/24 by Matt Lieberman for development.
Sandler is shooting Blended, a Warner romantic comedy that reunites him with Drew Barrymore, and has Grown Ups 2 awaiting a July 12 release.
Sandler is repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Columbus is repped by WME and Hansen, Jacobson.
