'Despicable Me 2' Baddie Makes the List of Least Threatening Movie Villains

One reason we love seeing heroes triumph is because we love watching the villain go down. Villains give us a clear evil to look at and say, "We hate you! Just die already!" But what happens when the villain isn't clearly evil?
Sometimes, despite their efforts, some villains just can't cut it when it comes to being bad. Take Despicable Me 2's Eduardo (a.k.a. El Macho), for instance. In his hayday, he rode flying sharks with rockets attached to the fins. Now he spends most of his time throwing parties and dancing the night away (not to mention gaining a few pounds in the process).

Murad Krasniqi in 'Taken 2'

You'd think they'd want to muster up a more worthy adversary for Liam Neeson than a 70-year-old, marginally decrepit man. [20th Century Fox]

Justin Hammer in 'Iron Man 2'

A particularly ineffectual villain, Justin Hammer is undone by his meager frame, geeky exterior, and perpetual second-best status. [Paramount Pictures]

Lord Farquaad in 'Shrek'

Standing up against a mighty ogre, a shapeshifting martial-arts expert and a fire-breathing dragon, Lord Farquaad doesn't seem to be all that big of an adversary. [Dreamworks Pictures]

Vizzini in 'The Princess Bride'

He might be a self-proclaimed mastermind, but Wallace Shawn's Vizzini is hardly physically intimidating... nor is he all that great at poison-related mind games. [20th Century Fox]

The Penguin in 'Batman Returns'

When considered against the rest of Batman's nefarious villains — the twisted Joker, clever Riddler, spry Catwoman and dominating Bane — the Penguin falls a bit short (pun extremely intended) in the intimidation department. [Warner Bros Pictures]

Vector in 'Despicable Me'

He might almost get away with snatching the moon, but Gru's arch nemesis Vector is just a fish-loving, spindly little fella who couldn't handle a mission of world domination if his track suit collection depended on it. [Universal Pictures]

Peter Lorre in Anything

This actor from Hollywood's Golden Era starred in all the classics: 'Casablanca,' 'M,' 'The Maltese Falcon,' and always as a bad guy. A pathetic, lowly, completely pitiful bad guy. [Warner Bros Pictures]

Otto in 'Wall-E'

Dude's a freakin' steering wheel. [Walt Disney Pictures]

Mugatu in 'Zoolander'

Formerly known as Jacob Moogberg, inventor of the piano necktie, Jacobim Mugatu has got to be the most bumbling, unfocused, and highly unprepared supervillain in movie history. [Paramount Pictures]

Elmer Fudd from 'Looney Tunes'

Never, in almost a century of hunting wabbits (and the occasional lisping duck), did Elmer Fudd manage to snag himself a victim. Frequently outsmarted, guilt-stricken, and seduced by woodland creatures in drag, this hapless hunter tops the list of least threatening villains in pop culture. [Walt Disney Pictures]
