LOS ANGELES, Calif. --
Kelly
Rowland has already started her gig as one of the new judges on Fox’s
“The X Factor,” which is currently filming its audition rounds, but
don’t expect her to dish out harsh criticism.
“I’m not a dream crusher,” Kelly told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson.
Asked what she will tell someone if they can’t sing, Kelly told Shaun that honesty is the best policy.
“You
have to be honest,” Kelly said. “If you’re thinking you can sing and
your momma said, ‘Baby, maybe you shouldn’t do this,’ and you come up
there anyway, momma knows best.”
Kelly
recently teamed up with Fantasia, serving as a special guest on
Fantasia’s new song “Without Me,” off the “American Idol” alum’s new
album, “Side Effects of You.”
And Fantasia explained to Shaun what the new cut is about.
“You
may meet someone and you may feel like you [helped] them along the way.
Then, much [further] down the line, you see that person again and they
act like they don’t even know you. And that, to you, is like, ‘Oh, OK, I
see. You [are] shining now, but where would you be without me? Got
that,’” Fantasia said.
