LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Giuliana Rancic and husband Bill Rancic welcomed their first child, Duke, in August.
Does the reality TV couple want to have more children?
“We’re definitely thinking about it,” the “Giuliana & Bill” star told Billy Bush and Kit Hoover on Wednesday’s Access Hollywood Live. “We’d love another child. So, we’ll see.”
Bill, however, isn’t quite sold on the idea of a big family just yet.
“Any
time we have a rough time with Duke, he’s like, ‘What do you think
about just one?’” she said with a laugh. “I’m like, ‘Bill, I’m Italian, I
need a big family.’ I mean, there’s nothing more beautiful. I think
[you should] have as many kids as you can handle!”
Adding, “Why not? And I think that in the future, we’ll be so glad that we had as many kids as we did.”
Despite
his temporary hesitation about to adding to their family, the E! News
host said Bill is an excellent dad to their 9-month-old son.
“I
think Bill is an incredible father — so loving,” she said. “There are
times where I definitely think Bill is a better parent. If I’m at work,
Bill will step in and he’s just a great dad. Instead of sitting the kid
in front of cartoons, he takes him out and tries to engage with him and
do whatever he can with him.
“He
just wants to be as involved as possible with the baby,” she continued.
“And there are some nights I’ll say, ‘Let’s go out to dinner with
friends tonight.’ And he’ll go, ‘No, let’s stay in with the baby.’ So
its little things like that.”
Giuliana,
a breast cancer survivor who underwent a double mastectomy in 2011,
also shared her reaction to the news of Angelina Jolie’s mastectomy.
“It
was definitely shocking. But good for her, man. She took her health
into her own hands and that’s what it’s all about,” she said. “She took
her risk to get breast cancer so far down. She took it from, I think, 85
percent to less than five percent and that’s why I went public. I just
wanted to get out there and encourage women to take their health into
their own hands because if you don’t care about your health, who the
hell is going to care about your health? You’ve got to do it.”
For
Giuliana, she said the most terrifying part of her cancer ordeal were
the overwhelming thoughts and devastation that really hit home in the
middle of the night.
“I feel so
bad when I meet a woman who doesn’t have a husband or a boyfriend or
someone that can take care of her…I don’t know how they do it,” she
shared. “More than anything, yes, [Bill] was at all the doctor’s
appointments, but where I really needed Bill was at 2 o’clock in the
morning when I would wake up sweating and crying and just devastated.
That’s where I needed Bill to calm me down and talk me off the ledge.”
The
38-year-old mom encouraged people who have friends or family members
dealing with cancer to try to be there for them through the night.
“I
wish there was a way I could be with these women, in the middle of the
night when they wake up like that, because that’s the scariest thing,”
she said. “That’s why I always say to friends of women going through
breast cancer, try to sleep over, try to be there, ‘cause that’s when
you really need someone — in the middle of the night when you just wake
up and your just like, ‘What the hell is going on?’”
“Giuliana & Bill” Season 7 premieres on July 16 at 8/7c on The Style Network.
