Faster Than a Speeding Bullet, 'Man of Steel' Sequel Is Already on the Way

Man of Steel, Henry Cavill
Warner Bros.
Nobody expected them to stop at one Man of Steel. In an era when it takes some seriously meager box office intake and scathing critical reaction to deny a superhero flick its sequel, we couldn't really anticipate our dear monosolar planet to not be graced with a second chapter for Henry Cavill's Superman. The official news of the fast-tracked follow-up comes from Deadline, with Man of Steel director Zack Snyder and screenwriter David S. Goyer on board to craft the sequel.
Goyer's contract with Warner Bros. has him signed up for the newly announced Man of Steel sequel as well as the will-it-ever-happen Justice League movie. Although the DC assembly is still little more than a distant dream, the optimistic prospects of the new Superman release offer hope for a union of Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and the like (although it's about time she got her own standalone film, don't you think?).
At this time, Christopher Nolan's name is absent from Man of Steel sequel talks, but we can bet that all parties are eager to tie down the Dark Knight helmer. It might mean we'll have to wait until production wraps on Interstellar, but it'll be worth it if it means getting Chapter 2 done correctly.
