Al Pacino Almost Played Han Solo in 'Star Wars'

Han Solo, Al Pacino

Shorter, louder, and probably a lot more reckless behind the wheel of the Millennium Falcon. That's what we propose Han Solo would have been like were he given the form of iconic actor Al Pacino, who states that he almost took the part in the original Star Wars. As the Godfather star recently told The Telegraph, "[The role] was mine for the taking," but a minor issue stood in the way of Pacino's involvement in George Lucas' movie: "I didn’t understand the script."
Funnily enough, Harrison Ford (the ultimate embodiment of the Kessel Run champion) also had a few harsh words to say about Lucas' script back during production in '77, infamously lamenting, "George, you can type this s**t, but you sure as hell can't say it."
The moral of this story: no matter what Han Solo we'd have ended up with, he wasn't going to be happy about it. But that, in a way, is pretty fitting.
