PARIS, France --
Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez will be adding a little boy to their family.
After much speculation about the gender of their baby, the actor confirmed the news in Paris on Wednesday.
“My son will be an American, but I remain French,” Olivier, 47, told People.
The
actor, who walked the red carpet at the Champs-Elysees Film Festival,
joked with reporters that life in the spotlight was not that big of a
deal to him because of where he’s from.
“It’s
not the first one, not the last [I’ve been on]. It’s part of the job,”
he told the mag. “I’m French — it’s less important. Meaning, I remain a
Frenchman in America, but I adapt to American culture. I feel good there
— but I’m still a foreigner.” Adding, “My son will be an American.”
Halle, 46, is already mom to Nahla, 5, whose father is Gabriel Aubry.
The
Oscar winner reportedly arrived in Paris on Tuesday. The parents-to-be
are expected to walk the red carpet together on Thursday, where Halle
will be honored at the film festival.
