Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have bucked tradition in favor of a more unique *ahem* direction with the naming of their first born daughter. The power couple has settled on the name North West, a source has confirmed for People.
Rumors of the cartographic name first circulated in March, at which time we prophesied a future of nightclub promotion, Cape Cod summers, and a chain of successful travel agencies for the budding mogul. With a name that so invokes guidance, pioneering, and a great sense of direction, who knows where she could go?
But while wee North West's professional future may be bright, we can't help but worry about her personal well-being. Nope, I'm not concerned with peer-on-peer bullying — Lord knows Kanye won't stand for that tomfoolery — but rather ostracism within her own family. Kim, Kanye, Kris, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall, Kylie — the Kardashians have never been shy about their fondness for the alphabet's 11th letter. And now here poor North is, K-less. She'll have to form a clique with Rob, Mason, and Penelope.
No word yet on whether the baby's middle name is Donda, for West's late mother, as previously hypothesized.
