Oh hey guess what? A King Kong musical about to open in Australia, and a whole bunch of ridiculously talented musicians are lending their voices to the soundtrack. And here’s the best part: We’ve got your sneak peek at all the monkey-themed music!
Producers Global Creatures have just released an 8-track preview of King Kong’s score, which features the work of some of the world's best contemporary artists. The bizarre blend includes Sarah McLahclan, 3D from Massive Attack, Justice, Guy Garvey from Elbow and The Avalanches, to name a few.
Adding to that sensational lineup, Moulin Rouge and Romeo + Juliet’s Marius de Vries has signed on as the composer for the classic cinematic tale-turned-theater adventure. Press play below to get a special preview of the brand new King Kong musical.
Playing exclusively at Melbourne's Regent Theatre, King Kong previews start May 28, with the official opening set for June 15.
