Cannes Revives Billy Wilder, Alfred Hitchcock, Bernardo Bertolucci Classics for 2013 Fest

The Cannes Film Festival will screen films from directors Billy Wilder, Alfred Hithcock and Bernardo Bertolucci in its Classic section, the festival said Monday. The section, created in 2004, features restored versions of timeless films.
This year’s crop includes 20 feature-length dramatic films and three documentaries.

Actress Kim Novak will introduce a restored version of one of her most famous films, Hitchcock’s “Vertigo.” Cannes will also screen a film that spurred controversy at the festival three deades ago, “Le Grande Bouffe.” The film, about four friends who go away for the weekend to eat themselves to death, stars Marcello Mastroianni.
