It’s Wednesday. As Friday night seems like a distant mirage, daydreaming about the weekend is giving you no joy. So how about we present you with a video that is so incredibly funny that you’re guaranteed to have some midweek giggles?
It’s well known that YouTube’s automatic closed captioning function is a hot mess of bizarre phrases and incorrect sentences. Luckily for us, comedy duo Rhett and Link decided to take advantage of this useless feature to transform your favorite Taylor Swift hits into the hilarious versions that YouTube thinks the songs are about.
Here are just a few lyrical gems found in the ingenius video: Swift’s "So why can’t you see? You belong with me" translates to "So arcade teens singing, you’re a gnome with me." And the line from "Mean" that reads, "Someday I’ll be living in a big ol' city" comes out as, "Sunday I mean even in a pickle CD." Amazing, right?
Take a look at the video below to hear all of the Taylor Swift caption fails and then take to the comments with your favorite wacky line. And just remember, you’re a gnome with me.
