Spring Breakers really did a number on its central cast.
Ever since starring in the Skrillex-addled anxiety attack, the once
angelic Selena Gomez has taken to much darker, more adult roles, such as
in Getaway and Rudderless. Fellow Disney vet Vanessa Hudgens is following suit, as we can see in the new trailer for her next film, Frozen Ground.

The film stars Hudgens opposite John Cusack (another former teen star who opted for a dark path) and Nicolas Cage
(who has always been a denizen of the nightmarish) in a story about the
investigation of a serial kidnapper and killer. Cage plays agitated cop
to Cusack's top suspect, with Hudgens — a prostitute — aiming to help
in the case as she recovers from a narrowly escaped murder. Check out
the trailer above, and catch the film in theaters August 23.
