'The Count of Monte Cristo' (2002)
Cavill played Albert Mondego, son of the villain Fernand Mondego (Guy Pearce), in the 10th film adaption of Alexandre Dumas' beloved novel. The film, which was directed by Kevin Reynolds (Waterworld), earned $75.4 million worldwide.
'I Capture the Castle' (2003)
In the 2003 adaption of of
the 1949 novel of the same name, Cavill played the charming but awkward
son of the late cook that works for the eccentric Mortmain family.
'Tristan + Isolde' (2006)
The 2006 adaption of the medieval love story was produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Reynolds, who also worked with Cavill in The Count of Monte Cristo. In the romantic drama, Cavill played Melot, the best friend of the lovelorn Tristan, who was played by James Franco.
'Red Riding Hood' (2006)
In the adaption of the Grimm's fairy tale, Cavill played the Hunter, who must save the pastry-delivering little girl from the nefarious Wolf, played by 'N Sync alum Joey Fatone.
'Stardust' (2007)
Cavill played the arrogant antagonist to the noble Tristan Thorn (Charlie Cox), the rightful heir to the magical kingdom that lies beyond the wall of his modest village. The romantic fantasy also starred Robert De Niro and Claire Danes.
'Whatever Works' (2009)
In the Woody Allen-directed comedy, Cavill played the charming would-be suitor to Evan Rachel Wood.
'Blood Creek' (2009)
This horror film follows Evan Marshall (Cavill) and his older brother Victor (Dominic Purcell)
as they seek revenge on the a rural West Virginia family that kept
Victor captive in order to continue a supernatural experiment that dates
back to the Third Reich. The film was directed by Joel Schumacher (Phantom of the Opera) and also starred Michael Fassbender.
'The Tudors' (2007-2010)
The Showtime historical drama loosely is based on the rise of the Tudor dynasty, most notably the reign of the womanizing King Henry the VIII of England. In the series, which ran for four seasons, Cavill played the brother-in-law of Henry VIII, Charles Brandon, First Duke of Suffolk.
'The Immortals' (2011)
Theseus (Cavill) is a mortal man chosen by Zeus (Luke Evans) to lead the fight against the ruthless King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke), who threatens the inhabitants of Greece while searching for a magical bow.
