ASCAP To Honor Composer Patrick Doyle at Film & TV Music Awards

The Henry Mancini Award recipient has scored such films as "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," "Gosford Park" and "Carlito’s Way."

Composer Patrick Doyle, whose scores include Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Gosford Park and Carlito’s Way will receive the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award at the performing rights organization's  28th annual Film & Television Music Awards on  June 20 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

The Henry Mancini Award is awarded to composers in recognition of their outstanding achievements and contributions to the world of film and television music.

Doyle, classically trained at the  Royal Scottish Academy of Music, is known for his work with Kenneth Branagh (Henry V, Hamlet, Frankenstein) and has worked with numerous other directors, among them Alfonso Cuaròn, Ang Lee, Chen Kaige, Mike Newell and Robert Altman.
He is composing scores for this year's feature films Jack Ryan and Cinderella. Doyle recently completed a score for the silent movie It starring Clara Bow that will receive its world premiere at the Landmark Theatre in Syracuse, N.Y., on Oct. 5. Doyle is a member of the UK’s PRS for Music and has his repertory licensed by ASCAP in the U.S.

The 28th annual ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards will also honor the composers of the top box office film music, the most performed television music and the top video game music of 2012, and feature live performances.
