Andrew Z. Davis has been named president of production administration for Columbia Pictures, it was announced Wednesday by Columbia Pictures president Doug Belgrad, to whom Davis will report.

Davis, who oversaw physical production at MGM from 2003 to 2005, will supervise all aspects of physical production, including post production and visual effects for all Columbia Pictures films as well as live-action portions of films from Sony Pictures Animation.  He will work closely with Andrew Gumpert, president of worldwide business affairs and operations; Hannah Minghella, president of production; and Bob Osher, Sony Pictures Digital Productions president. Columbia Pictures' physical production, post production and visual effects executives will all report to Davis.

Davis most recently executive produced In Time, starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried, Your Highness, starring Danny McBride, James Franco and Natalie Portman, and Role Models, starring Seann William Scott and Paul Rudd. Among his other credits, he was the producer on Rush Hour 3 and executive producer of Rush Hour 2.
Davis succeeds Gary Martin, who is retiring after 51 years in the entertainment industry and 32 years at Columbia.
"We are thrilled to welcome Andy to our Team," Belgrad said. "As both an executive and a producer, he has extraordinary skill and enormous experience, and he brings with him a disciplined and cost-conscious approach to production management. It won't be easy stepping into Gary Martin's shoes -- Gary is a show business legend and his indelible mark will forever be a part of the company's legacy -- but we are thrilled and fortunate that he worked with us to help select his successor who will continue the work of making our productions the best-run in the business."
