Maria Shriver Returns to NBC to Tackle Women's Issues

While the past couple of years have seen Maria Shriver at the center of a high profile personal controversy, we remember the half-Kennedy for her onscreen work as a voice of progress. Back during her days with NBC, Shriver oversaw coverage of the 1988 Summer Olympics, co-anchored the network's Sunday Today, and produced the Award-winning The Alzheimer's Project. And now, Shriver returns to her peacockian stomping grounds with a ne righteous endeavor: the television journalist confirms via her blog that she will be taking a position as a special anchor on Today, focusing on women's issues.
Shriver asserts that she will be "working across multiple NBCUniversal properties and NBC News programs" and "be serving as an Editor at Large for women's issues across the NBC News Digital properties, working with the teams to expand on editorial content and news programming that touches on women's multi-faceted lives."
This new facet of Today will include profiles of "Architects of Change," which Shriver describes as "groundbreaking women and men who are pushing the boundaries of society, technology, media, science, business, faith and politics." Shriver and her new endeavors will be a welcome addition to the Today formula.
