A small explosion that occurred at Disneyland's Toontown forced a partial evacuation of the famed amusement park for two hours on Tuesday, park officials confirmed, but luckily no guests were injured.
"This afternoon, a small bang was heard in a trash can at Mickey's Toontown. In an abundance of caution, the area was evacuated," Disneyland said on its official Twitter page, adding, "There were no injured and no reported damage."
Per The Los Angeles Times, the blast went off at approximately 5:30 p.m. and was the result of dry ice that apparently had been placed in a plastic bottle.
Investigators with the Anaheim Police Department are looking into the matter and reviewing surveillance footage as the device is apparently similar to other dry ice explosions that have occurred in Anaheim in recent months.
After getting the all-clear, park officials reopened Toontown two hours later.
