The teaser trailer for The Boxtrolls introduces us to an array of possible parenting pairs that come in all shape and sizes, which initially comes off as celebrating same sex-marriage victories in Cali.
But, the teaser soon veers off from discussing family structures... and right when we think an adorable adolescent, Eggs, is all alone in a creepy dark alley, we meet this spiky-haired little boy's oddly shaped and sized family as gremlins in boxes pop up for playtime! This adorable theatrical trailer incites giggles and cheer as we watch the cutie toddler and his boxy pals.
The Boxtrolls is a stop-motion flick based on the novel Here Be Monsters! by Alan Snow. The adventure film is produced by Laika, the same animation studio that released Coraline and Paranorman. The Boxtrolls reels in an A-List cast to lend their voices to the film including Isaac Hempstead Wright of Game of Thrones fame, Ben Kingsley, Super 8's Elle Fannning, Simon Pegg, Tracy Morgan, and more!
The story follows orphaned toddler Eggs (Wright), who has to save his adopted-family of cave-inhabiting, trash-collecting box trolls after they are threatened to extinction by the malicious Archibald Snatcher. Gah!
