Diane Kruger admitted to a celebrity crush of her own on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." She said that she absolutely loved Don Johnson. But it wasn't his star-turning performance in "Miami Vice" that caused her to fall in love with him. Instead, while growing up in Germany, she fell in love with Johnson's music.
Her first kiss even came with his song "Heartbeat" playing in the background. So of course, when she finally got the chance to meet him at an Oscars party, she said she embarrassed herself like crazy.
“I immediately start crying," she admitted. "I had a few too many, let’s be honest. It was so embarrassing. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, you’re Don Johnson! I l have your song. I love you for your song and I have it on my phone. And here, it’s on my phone! I’ll play it for you.’"
She said that the incident was embarrassing for Johnson, his wife and even her boyfriend, who told her, "Diane, you really, you need to stop talking.’" But she couldn't. "But I love him!’” she exclaimed to her boyfriend, while still in front of Johnson.
She did managed to snap a picture of herself with her celebrity crush -- crazy crying face and all -- as proof of her super-fandom. The Daily Mail loved the crazy story, but they loved the picture she showed even more.
Diane Kruger can be seen -- probably a lot less excited -- on the new drama, "The Bridge," premiering Wednesday night at 10 p.m. ET on FX. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs every weeknight at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.
