LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Rebecca
Romijn is a busy working mom, but the “King & Maxwell” star credits
teamwork with her husband, Jerry O’Connell, for why the pair doesn’t
have a full-time nanny.
“We’re each other’s assistants,” the actress told Redbook magazine,
which features her on its August 2013 cover. “We pick up each other’s
slack. Whoever is less busy helps the busier one: ‘Can you go pick this
up for me?’ or ‘Can you book my flight?’ That’s what real life is. Once
you start paying somebody else to do the grunt work, who are you?”
Rebecca
is known for her sleek physique – she famously donned a skin-tight
outfit to play Mystique in several “X-Men” films — yet she had no qualms
about gaining weight when she was carrying her twins – Dolly and
Charlie, now 5.
“I
wasn’t worried – you’ve gotta feather that nest! Afterward, I was
nursing for six months. When you’re a new mother, your body doesn’t
belong to you for a while. You have to check your vanity at the door,”
she said.
The actress also isn’t worried about aging. She turned 40 last year.
“Aging
has never been scary to me. I’ve always admired my mom’s lines – she
has a beautiful, laughter-filled face. I’ve always thought that was
attractive,” she said.
While Rebecca and Jerry have been married since 2007, she told the mag she still gets called Rebecca Romijn-Stamos on occasion.
“Oh my God, it happened to me last night,” she told the mag of getting called by her old name.
