18 Celebs in Really, Ridiculously Patriotic Garb

As Americans, we don't need an excuse to dress patriotically. We rock the red, white, and blue all year long because we love our country. And no matter how flashy or tacky it is, we won’t apologize for it. This is America, people.
But Independence Day provides a special opportunity to really go all out with our American spirit. In honor of the Fourth of July, here are some celebrities sporting their most patriotic outfits. Some are subtle, others are extreme, but they all represent the good old US of A. Click the photo above to view the stars and stripes in all their glory.

Jennifer Garner and Her Children Watch a Parade

Jennifer Garner is being a good role model for her daughters Violet and Seraphina, teaching them the importance of wearing red, white, and blue. Bonus points for Violet's hat!

Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Hit the Beach

Even though these lovebirds are from England, they've had some major success in the US. Judging from Rosie's sweater, it's safe to assume that the couple loves our country as much as we love them.

Keira Knightley and Husband James Righton

Another British couple showing their appreciation for the States, Righton's shirt proudly displays the American flag, while Knightley's dress complements it nicely with a red and blue print.

Bar Refaeli in a Stars and Stripes Top

Model Bar Refaeli loves America so much she just has to shout! It's okay, Bar. Let it out.

Tina Fey's 'Vanity Fair' Cover

Fey had her fair share of ridiculous wardrobes on the set of '30 Rock,' but she also dared to be adventurous off-set. In 2009, she posed in a tiny patriotic dress on the cover of 'Vanity Fair.' Maybe if she had run for president, Barack Obama wouldn't be the one sitting in the White House now. But he is — and the closest we will ever get to seeing Liz Lemon rule this country is a look back at at her crazy cover. [Vanity Fair]

Britney Spears on the Cover of 'Rolling Stone'

There was a time in which Britney Spears could do no wrong. Ah, what blissful, thoughtless times were the early 2000s. And that's when Britney was quite actually America's scantily-clad Sweetheart, so if you think about it, this outfit isn't so much ridiculous as it is an expression of our national dependence on the Spears Pop Music drug.

Katy Perry in an America/UK Mini-Dress

Katy's skin-tight frock is only half American, but since England is sort of like America's grandfather, we'll let it slide. Plus, she looks amazing in it. Makes you proud to be an American, doesn't it?

Will Ferrell in Flag Boxers

Now this is how to dress in 'Merica. Who needs pants when you can drape yourself in the American flag? Besides, Will Ferrell taking off his clothes is an American tradition at this point, right?

Tilda Swinton at the New York Film Festival

Tilda Swinton may be known for her fashion forward choices now, but in 2003 she was a little too adventurous for our tastes. Being attacked by a flock of baby American flags on the red carpet? Not a good look. (Image: Evan Agostini/Getty Images)

Kate Upton on the cover of 'GQ'

It's safe to assume that this cover featuring model du jour Kate Upton had plenty of red-blooded Americans shouting "God Bless America."

Ke$Ha In Flag Fringe

Ke$ha insists on decking herself out in American flags at every turn, but am I the only one who thinks she should ask the American public's permission first? If she doesn't slow down, America's steeze is going to be seriously affected... or infected. I'm not sure how steezes work.

The Spice Girls for Pepsi

The Spice Girls might be the most American British pop group in the last 20 years. They shilled for just about every product known to screaming teenage girl, including America's life blood: Cola. More specifically, Pepsi. They may be dressed for the pop drink, but we get the message, ladies. You love us. You totally love us.

Destiny's Child at the United We Stand Concert

In 2001, the nation was in mourning after terrorist attacks in New York, and to bring out patriotic spirits out of the doldrums, super girl group Destiny's Child rocked the most patriotic bell bottoms known to man. God Bless America, and God Bless Beyonce. (Image: KMazur/WireImage)

Reba McEntire at the People's Choice Awards

I wouldn't wish this dress on my mortal enemy, but Reba is an American classic, so if she wants to dress like Miss Yankee Doodle Dandee of America, you let her.

Lady Gaga and Beyonce in the 'Telephone' Video

Stars and stripes. The Captain and Tennille. Hamburgers and hot dogs. And now, Lady Gaga and Beyonce. Classic American pairings deserve a proper patriotic wrapping, and while Beyonce and Gaga seem to have shirked the "proper" part of that prompt they do seem to be pro-America in these skimpy costumes.

Ashley Tisdale in Minnie Mouse Ears

I'd wager Minnie Mouse is a patriot, and clearly Ashley Tisdale already did. The bronzed starlet pranced out on the town in this get-up featuring an American flag sweater, matching blue booties (not pictured), and the all-important mouse ears.

Jane Krakowski's Andy Warhol-inspired Mini-dress

Tomato soup is about as American as it gets. Still, Jane Krakowski's '30 Rock' character would only don a dress like this daring number if a starlet like Blake Lively did it first. But in real life, Jane's a little more adventurous. It brings a whole new meaning to "Campbell, Campbell, Campbell."

Kendra Wilkinson on 'Dancing With The Stars'

Everyone was decked in red, white, and blue when Kendra Wilkinson took the stage during America Week on 'Dancing With the Stars,' but no one embodied "Betsy Ross at the Playboy Mansion" quite like this former 'Girl Next Door.' (Image: Adam Taylor/ABC)
