PictureBox Films now lets consumers view movies like "The Bourne Identity" and "2 Fast 2 Furious" through more devices
LONDON -- NBCUniversal launches a rebooted version of its bespoke movie subscription VOD service PictureBox Films direct to consumers in the U.K. and Ireland Friday.
Subscribers will be offered 60 hand-picked films, at any time, through their desktop computer, Samsung Smart TV or mobile devices such as iPads, iPhones and Android phones.
As part of the site’s rebrand, consumers can view new films and catalog titles including The Eagle, The American, Bridget Jones’s Diary, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Jarhead and The Bourne Identity.
PictureBox is billed as a curated subscription VOD service and initially launched in 2006 as a digital TV SVOD service.
It is also available in the U.K. via cable company Virgin Media, telephone and broadband operator TalkTalk, telecoms giant BT Vision and Top Up TV and in Poland, Russia, Latin America, Brazil and Singapore via local platform providers.
